Mesozoic–Cenozoic Magma Evolution and Tin Metallogeny in Western Yunnan, China cover

This book offers the Mesozoic-Cenozoic magmatic rock evolution and its relationships to tin metallogeny in the Western Yunnan, China. The volume systematically reviews and elaborates on the research advances of major large- to super-large-scale tin polymetallic deposits in China and analyzes the general status of the resource. The book investigates the genesis of 10 typical granite intrusions and 3 representative tin polymetallic deposits in the Western Yunnan Tin Belt. By integrating previous studies, the relationships between magmatic evolution and mineralization are discussed. Based on geological and geochemical characteristics of the intrusions and their ore-bearing potential, a qualitative-quantitative discrimination model is established to differentiate tin-bearing granites from non-tin-bearing granites in the Tengchong-Lianghe region. The book comprehensively synthesizes the geological, petrogeochemical, and geochronological characteristics of magmatism and mineralization in the belt and analyzes the metallogenic patterns of tin polymetallic deposits in the region. Furthermore, the volume compares the Western Yunnan Tin Belt, the Southeastern Yunnan Tin Belt, and the Bangong Lake-Nujiang Metallogenic Belt to evaluate their metallogenic similarities and differences. The book serves as a reference for researchers in tungsten-tin deposit and mine exploration, and graduate students in the field of earth science.
