Daniel Cañas Author

Daniel Cañas (Extremadura, 1986) grew up in a small town in the province of Cáceres in Spain, and studied Primary Education and Foreign Languages at university. A teacher and reading club coordinator with a passion for children's literature, he began writing for his students with the aim of sparking their interest in books. He has already published several works and received international awards, such as the gold medal at the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards, the silver medal at the International Latino Book Awards, the gold medal at the IPPY Awards, and recognition from Bank Street College of Education.

Mar Azabal lives in Toledo and has a degree in Geography, specializing in Administration and Archive Conservation. Her true dream was to create stories through drawing and illustration, combining mixed techniques that bring together watercolor, collage, graphite, and colored pencils. Her work has been recognized internationally, as in the case of Ayobami and the Names of Animals, which won the silver medal at the MoonBeam Awards and the gold medal at the International Latino Book Awards, and was also considered Best Illustrated Children's Book by The New York Times and the New York Public Library. She has also participated in group exhibitions such as the Sharjah Exhibition for Children's Book Illustrations and Iberoamérica Ilustra in 2025.
