Test Yourself: Social Psychology provides essential learning and practice through assessment for your psychology students. It enables year 1 and 2 undergraduates to assess their confidence and competence and prepare for the types of questions featured in their formal university assessments.
The book includes over 200 multiple-choice and extended multiple-choice questions, carefully designed to assess depth of knowledge. At the end of each chapter sample essay questions are provided, along with further guidance, to complement the multiple-choice questions and further test understanding. In addition, information is provided to help students make sense of their results and identify strengths and weaknesses.
Many thanks for the book - I plan to use this book to test students′ knowledge of social psychology in a quiz next term. -- Dr Alexander Bridger * drupal *
This is a refreshing concept for a textbook and I feel it would appeal to many undergraduate students who wish to test their understanding of the area. The MCQs cover a good wide range of topics, and are pitched at an appropriate level. The essay questions would be very useful for level 2 students, but I feel that by emphasising quite advanced critical thinking, they may be a little unrepresentative of typical first year essay questions. Although I do not currently lead a Social Psychology module, I will informally recommend this to students and colleagues and certainly keep it in mind in the future. -- Dr Chris Bale * drupal *
I have been recommending it to students as it is very clear and challenging. The book itself is more than a text book, I look at it as a tool to help students think and remember, at various levels. -- Dr Dora Brown * drupal *
Too specific- questions asked will be dependent on individual lecture content. -- Dr Gayle Brewer * drupal *
One of the main reason I like the books is that they are succinct and they are priced reasonably for students! -- Dr Jacqui Taylor * drupal *
Not a suitable scholarly level for our students -- Dr Patrick Hylton * drupal *
I think this is quite a useful text alongside the Callaghan & Lazzard Social Psych text - I would recommend this to my students as long as they used the advanced level questions and as long as they understood it to be an aide to remembering concepts etc. The focus of my course is very much around applying the concept to real life and in particular the latest studies out there. So overall it goes a long way to providing supplementary exam support alongside other requirements stipulated by the course outcomes. I should also say it is user friendly and reasonably priced. Thank you for alerting me to both this and the above text. -- Dr Sal Watt * drupal *
This book is a useful supplement for students, and is recommended as an extra source material to test students′ understanding beyond the lecture notes and test materials used in the university. -- Dr Sharon Preston * drupal *
